Full New York Ironman is a GO!

I’m sure it has been a long a suspenseful day for many a triathlete who have been waiting for the results.  But it is official, the New York Ironman U.S. Championship will take place in its entirety which will include the swim.

New York Ironman Swim Will Proceed After Sewer Break Repaired

Now that it is over and done with, lets all hope that the weather holds off and doesn’t rain on our parade. Right now there is a 60% chance of rain at 5am with it tapering off to around 35% by 5pm.

These are what we like to call these Bike & Eats not races. It is all about having fun riding and eating!!!  To make this more interesting and entertaining, maybe a some club challenges to go with it!  Keep an eye out for more details.

The Countdown has Begun!

Greetings CJTC Members,

The countdown has begun and it is nearly five more days until our largest CJTC event of the year. You have all been swimming smooth, pedaling fast and running hard to get yourselves in shape for the event. Now is the time to dial it back just a bit and rest up for a long weekend of racing and cheering on your fellow club members.

Don’t forget to go to our Yahoo Group and volunteer to contribute an item or two for the weekends events. It should be a fun and exciting weekend for everyone involved. We plan on having our club tent setup in the same location as last year with snacks, a grill for burgers and hot dogs and various drinks for those attending.

Come on down and join us if you are racing, cheering on your friends or just there to lend a hand.

Have a great week and rest up, it should be a fun and exciting weekend.

Swim safety is just as important as road safety

As triathletes, we spend a lot of time in the water training and
racing. At the Patriot Half last weekend a friend of CJTC saved a “silent
drowning victim”. This article explains how “Drowning doesn’t look like
drowning” and what to do if you come upon an unresponsive swimmer. Take a
minute to read the article and educate yourself about what drowning really looks
like.

Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning

Keep an eye out for each other and be safe out there!!

Lost and Found Announcement: If anyone is missing a pair of women’s black shorts with a flower on the right side, a pair of white flip flops, 1 white sock with blue stripes and their t-shirt from the race, it was left by our picnic table and I picked it up at the end. Let me know if it’s yours and I can get it to you.
