Congrats to the race finishers at Pocono Ironman 70.3 and Dottie’s House Tri

Congrats to our six CJTC race finishers in the 2012 Pocono Ironman 70.3 and for returning safe and sound. It was a very cool and chilly morning at the T1 transition before the swim although it did warm up later on in the bike segment for more comfortable racing temperatures. Biking in to T2 the sun was out in full force but still while very mild air temperatures which made for a very pleasant run with cool fall breezes. Excellent conditions for a half marathon.

Our finishers: Heather, Dave, Bill, Bruno, Tom and Darren all finished strong and in typical CJTC style. It was great to see all the racers this weekend over a nice meal and over good conversation (about what?? Triathlons of course).

Also a special congrats to Bob, who completed his 7th Sprint at Dottie’s House End Of Season tri this year and who is consistently and age group placer. Bob is one of the hardest charging age groupers in the sprint distance that I know. Congrats Bob, and keep up the fantastic race finishes.

Pocono Ironman 70.3 Race Briefing

During the race briefing everyone was listening intensely for any useful information on the course. The big highlight in the briefing: The large land slide that created a two foot drop in a 100 foot section of Cherry Valley Road near the Delaware Water Gap has not been repaired. Instead of a repair or a detour, two ramps were placed at the ends of the disturbed section. Additionally the 100 foot section has been designated a single file / no passing zone until you exit the damaged area. It should make at least this short section of the race interesting.

Good Luck Pocono Ironman 70.3 and Dotties House Tri Competitors

It has been a long summer but September has nearly come and gone already.  The race season is starting to come to a close but there are still a few races left for the year and the Pocono Ironman 70.3 and Dotties House – End of Season Triathlons are at bat for this weekend.  The weather is a bit uncertain over the weekend with Saturday weather showing a 20% chance of rain in Seaside Park, NJ; while Sunday weather is less favorable in East Stroudsburg, PA with a 40% chance of rain.  Either way, it will be nice and cool for all the competitors this weekend and we wish you all the best of luck.

Stay tuned and come back for updates on the events from the Pocono Ironman 70.3 this weekend.
